5th Oilympic’s Steering Committee Holds 1st Meeting

The Fifth Petroleum Engineering Olympiad (Oilympic) steering committee held its first meeting on Sunday May 7, 2023.

Hosted by Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum, the meeting was aimed at presenting a summary report on the Fourth Oilympic and introducing the programs for the Fifth Oilympic.

Vahid-Reza Zeidifar, deputy minister of petroleum for engineering, research and technology, Rasool Jalili, president of Sharif University of Technology, Mohammad Chahardowli, director of research affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum, and Saeed Jamshidi, chairman of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department of Sharif University of Technology were among the speakers of the meeting, according to the Secretariat of the Petroleum Engineering Olympiad quoted by public relations of Pasargad Energy Development Company.

The meeting, attended by the CEOs and managing directors of prominent exploration and production companies, service providers and private sector contractors, included a summary report on the Fourth Oilympic as well as discussions about the major goals and programs of the Fifth Oilympic.

It should be noted that the Fifth Petroleum Engineering Olympiad will be held within Iran’s National Elites Foundation’s Shahid Babaei Plan and supported by Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum, Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC), National Iranian Oil Company, and Iranian Oil Industry Ventures (IOIV).
