Pasargad Damghan Solar Power Plant Comes Online

Pasargad Energy Development Company launched a 10-megawatt solar power plant on February 19, 2023 in Damghan, Semnan Province.

Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Iran’s Energy Minister, Alireza Sadegh Abadi, managing director of Pasargad Energy Development Company, Seyyed Mohammadreza Hashemi, the Governor-General of Semnan Province, Ali Akbar Alizadeh, a representative of Damghan in the parliament attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mehrabian said, “the 10-megawatt Passargad Damghan solar power plant, which came on stream with the efforts of Pasargad Energy Developmnt Company, enjoys modern technology and can get the most out of solar energy as it has floating solar panels and can produce electricity on both sides.

The 10-megawatt Damghan Power Plant can supply over 60 percent of the power needed for the city of Damghan. In other words, such power plants can supply a great deal of power without causing pollution, damaging water resources and with meeting environmental considerations, he added.

Mehrabian appreciated the efforts of Pasargad Energy Development Company as the investor of the power plant, adding, “Pasargad Holding is highly-efficient and enjoys capacity to build power plants in other cities in Iran.”
