Sepehr, Jufair Oilfield Output to Rise to 50,000 bpd
Iran started oil production from Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield and its output is expected to increase to 50,000 barrels per day.
Oil production from Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield began following the drilling of 10 production wells, Pasargad Energy Development Company quoted Mehr News Agency as saying.
The production from Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield started following the drilling of the deepest oil well in Iran, with 4,600 meters of depth. Ten out of 12 production wells have already been drilled and drilling of the remaining two wells is underway.
Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield produces a daily average of 21,000 barrels of oil which is expected to reach 50,000 barrels per day (bpd).
The drilling process in the field, located in the Fahlian reservoir layer, takes 90 days, down from the earlier 333 days, said the Drilling Engineering Manager at Pasargad Exploration and Production Company, the developer of Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield, Mohammad Reza Afsharian, on the sidelines of a press visit to the field.
The depth of the oil wells drilled in the Fahlian layer ranges from 4,600 to 4,650 meters, he said, adding 60,000 meters of wells have already been drilled in Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield.
All 12 wells drilled in the oilfield are high-pressure high-temperature and their pressure is 10,000 psi, he said, adding all environmental measures have been taken into account in the drilling operations of the field.
National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Pasargad Energy Development Company signed an agreement in March 2018 to develop the Sepehr and Jufair Oilfield. Upon the agreement, the field will produce 36,000 bpd in the first phase which will increase to 110,000 bpd by the end of the second phase and to 540,000 bpd within 20 years, through 2.8 billion dollars of investment.
