Iranian Oil Firms Raise Funds for Autism Association by Selling Paintings

TEHRAN (PEDC) - Iranian oil companies raised 14.5 billion rials ($345,238) for the Iran Autism Association by selling paintings made of oil and bitumen at the Iran International Oil Exhibition.

The initiative was launched by Pasargad Energy Development Company, a well-known Iranian energy group, in line with its corporate social responsibility, according to a statement by the company.

Six oil companies participated in the charity event by buying paintings that were drawn with oil from the Sepehr-Jufair field and bitumen from the Pasargad Qeshm refinery, two projects of Pasargad Energy Development Company.

On the last day of the exhibition, two paintings were sold for five billion rials ($119,048) to Havayar Company and eight billion rials ($190,476) to Rose Catalyst Arvand City Company, the exclusive representative of China's Rezel Catalysts Corporation in Iran.

In the previous days, three paintings were sold for 250 million rials ($5,952), one billion rials ($23,810), and 300 million rials ($7,143) to Dana Energy Company, Fateh Sanat Company and Well Services of Iran Company respectively.

The proceeds of the sales were donated to the Iran Autism Association, which supports children with autism spectrum disorder.

In addition, Pishro Group Company announced that it would build and equip a smart school exclusively for autistic children.

After the sale of the paintings on the final day of the exhibition, Dr. Ghaffari, director of the Iran Autism Association, presented paintings by mothers of autistic children and appreciation plaques to the buyers and Alireza Sadeqabadi, CEO of Pasargad Energy Development Company, as the organizer of the program. She also introduced them as honorary ambassadors of autism.
