PECO’s Qezel Tappeh wins silver award at IPMA Global Project Excellence 2026

Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services (PECO) has won the silver award at the IPMA Global Project Excellence Award 2026 for its drilling and completion of appraisal well No. 3 at Qezel Tappeh Field with EPD method, marking the company’s second consecutive presence among the top firms in the competition.

The award was granted at the IPMA Global Project Excellence Award ceremony on September 18, 2026 in Hiroshima, Japan, held alongside the closing session of 35th IPMA World Congress. The Qezel Tappeh project had earlier advanced to the final round in the “construction, engineering and infrastructure” category.

Being executed under complex technical and operational conditions at high pressure, high temperature (HPHT), the Qezel Tappeh project had previously secured the silver trophy in Iran’s Project Management Award. Its success at IPMA reflects technical achievement as well as the team’s capabilities in leadership, complexity and stakeholder management, innovation, teamwork and value creation.

A second consecutive presence among IPMA’s top projects underscores Pezhvak Energy’s commitment to institutionalizing project management excellence. Continued participation in such evaluations helps strengthen the company’s knowledge and performance through identifying improvement areas and leveraging global experience.
