Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company has reached the final stage of the 2026 IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards with its project, “Drilling and Completion of Appraisal Well No. 3, Qezel Tappeh Field,” securing a place among the three finalists in the Construction / Engineering / Infrastructure Projects category.
The IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards assess project success beyond the achievement of technical objectives or the completion of operational targets. The evaluation also considers the quality of project leadership and management, the ability to navigate complexity and constraints, stakeholder management, innovation, teamwork, value creation, and the sustainability of project outcomes.
From this perspective, Qezel Tappeh’s advancement to the final stage represents more than the technical success of a drilling project. It reflects the project team’s maturity and capability in managing a complex and demanding assignment within the oil and gas industry.
The Drilling and Completion of Appraisal Well No. 3 at the Qezel Tappeh Field is one of Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company’s flagship projects. The project was executed under challenging technical and operational conditions, with specialized requirements associated with high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) drilling.
Prior to entering the global competition, the Qezel Tappeh project had also earned national recognition, receiving the Silver Trophy of Iran’s National Project Management Award. Its progression from national recognition to the final stage of a prestigious international competition highlights the potential of Iran’s oil and gas projects to compete at the highest levels of global project management.
This marks the second consecutive year that Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company has been represented among the finalists of the IPMA Global Awards. The achievement demonstrates that high standards of project management within the company are not limited to the performance of a single project, but are increasingly becoming an organizational capability embedded in the way projects are managed and delivered.
The Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners of the 2026 IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards will be announced on September 18, 2026, during the IPMA Global Awards Gala Ceremony in Hiroshima, Japan. The ceremony will be held as the closing event of the 35th IPMA World Congress.
