The energy industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by emerging technologies, and Pasargad Energy Group, with a deep understanding of this trend, has paved its way toward technological development and sustainable value creation. This approach not only enhances internal performance but also aligns with the global wave of innovation in the energy sector. In this context, the Technology and Innovation Management of Pasargad Energy Group operates in the following key areas to strengthen technological and innovative capabilities and address strategic needs of the energy industry in line with global trends:
1. Establishing AI-based digital centers (Digitalization)
2. Launching specialized reference laboratories at key points in the Group’s value chain (Tech Labs)
3. Advancing green technologies (Green Technologies)
4. Continuously identifying emerging technologies and smart innovations with a special focus on the value chain and Group projects (R&T)
5. Applying open innovation approaches and leveraging creative ideas and solutions to address business challenges (Innovations)
In the upstream oil and gas sector, Pasargad Energy Group has launched the WRFM CENTER, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics to optimize production and drilling operations, enhance output, and improve safety in oil fields—particularly in the Sepehr and Jofeir fields. This initiative serves as a model for the intelligent transformation of Iran’s oil industry.
Additionally, Pasargad Energy Company has taken a significant step toward improving efficiency and control in power generation by establishing the country’s first intelligent power plant monitoring center, IPCM Center, at the Shariati Power Plant in Mashhad. The holding also leverages the expertise of its subsidiaries to implement innovative projects aimed at digital transformation and productivity enhancement in the energy sector.
To foster synergy between industry and academia, Pasargad Energy Group has established specialized laboratories at Amirkabir University of Technology and the University of Tehran. These include the HYDRO FRAC LAB for process design in energy layer fracturing at Amirkabir, and the Flow Assurance LAB at the University of Tehran.
In the field of renewable energy, the Group has launched the country’s first solar power plant equipped with a solar tracking system and bifacial panels in Damghan, in accordance with cutting-edge global technologies. By developing necessary technologies to boost efficiency—such as a smart-angle solar tracking system, proprietary infrastructure methods, and panel-cleaning robots—the Group has elevated the performance and productivity of clean energy to a new level.
Furthermore, the establishment of the Pasargad Energy AI Innovation Center at Sharif University of Technology and the adoption of open innovation practices have created a close collaboration between industry and academia. Hosting specialized seminars and events, supporting startups and academic research, and executing joint projects led by university professors and innovation teams are among the initiatives taken by the Technology and Innovation Management of Pasargad Energy Group to shape a smart, sustainable, and competitive future for Iran’s energy industry.
