Knowledge-Based Company Certifications

To leverage the benefits and incentives associated with Iran’s knowledge-based enterprise framework, the following Pasargad Energy Group subsidiaries have successfully obtained Knowledge-Based Company status:

  • Petro Danial Kish Certified for: Perfo Exact technology Classification: Innovative

Given the growing importance and widespread use of simulation software in the oil industry—particularly for enhancing production and efficiency of producing wells—there was a clear need for a specialized tool capable of integrating well, reservoir, and fluid parameters in perforation operations, while also covering a complete list of perforation equipment.

    • PerfoExact has successfully addressed this gap by incorporating all these critical elements. Through precise modeling and the use of advanced algorithms, it delivers a robust, locally developed solution—eliminating the need for foreign software—for oil and gas producers.

    Key Advantages of Using PerfoExact:
    • Significant increase in well production through scientifically grounded and precise perforation design
    • Reduction of design risks and operational costs
    • Ability to evaluate and compare multiple design scenarios within an advanced simulation environment

  • Hamyar Engineering Technology Development Co. (Tafahom) Certified for: Retina simulator Classification: Innovative
  • Introduction of Pasargad Upstream Management platform (PUM):

  • The Pasargad Upstream Management platform (PUM) is an innovative solution based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), and Digital Oilfield (DOF) technologies, developed to enable integrated management of wells, reservoirs, and surface facilities. Since 2021, it has been deployed in the Sepehr and Jofeir oil fields. Leveraging IoT, sensors, communication networks, big-data analytics, and re-engineering of production processes, the platform enables real-time monitoring, reservoir behavior forecasting, and operational optimization. PUM includes more than 25 specialized modules and aims to achieve advanced levels of digital transformation and emerging technologies at an international benchmark.

  • RETINA-Siah1 Simulation
  • is designed to model the production process from oil and gas reservoirs. This tool enables accurate prediction of well and reservoir performance under various production and enhanced recovery scenarios. Across all tested models, the difference between RETINA-Siah1 simulation results and those of ECLIPSE remains below 5%, demonstrating high reliability and precision.

This product is primarily used by oil and gas field development companies to estimate hydrocarbon reserves in newly discovered fields and to design reservoir development plans. It is also fully applicable for engineering consulting firms conducting reservoir studies on behalf of field developers.

  • BI and AI Capabilities:
  • At the core of its business intelligence layer, PUM runs automated ETL processes on structured and semi-structured data, providing managerial and technical dashboards for production, drilling, maintenance, and corrosion management, as well as engineering calculations such as bottom-hole pressure, flow rates, and production decline analysis. On the AI side, the platform employs advanced machine-learning and deep-learning models to predict drilling problems, optimize rate of penetration, forecast well and field production, and detect anomalies in critical downhole equipment. These models are monitored through an MLOps pipeline, hardened against noisy/outlier data, and equipped with interpretability tools so that engineers can understand the logic behind the recommendations. The technical complexities—such as integrating heterogeneous data, the absence of off-the-shelf solutions, and extensive R&D requirements—place PUM among high-technology platforms aligned with national innovation criteria.

  • Achievements and Operational Impact:
  • Operational results show a 98% uptime for wells, faster identification of production and drilling issues, cost reduction, and increased production. In gas fields, the platform can forecast pressure decline and optimize gas production, enabling up to 20% reduction in industrial energy consumption. The technical knowledge developed has been institutionalized through documentation, internal knowledge bases, patents, and training of more than 100 personnel, ensuring repeatability of processes and reduced external dependency. Given the vast volume and complexity of upstream data and the high sensitivity of decision-making, PUM automates workflows and eliminates human error, ultimately enhancing safety, improving economic efficiency, and maximizing asset value.

  • Petro Kala Pasargad Kish  Certified for: JAR drilling impact tool Classification: Startup
  • Hydraulic drilling jars are used to release stuck sections of the drill string inside the well. Their design enables impact in both upward and downward directions to free the pipe. The jar developed by this company is suitable for deviated and high-stress wells, where a hydraulic damping mechanism is used to minimize the negative effects of mechanical impact. To release stuck pipes, significant force is required, which is provided by the weight of the drill string above the jar plus additional applied force. The higher the upward velocity of the mandrel, the stronger and more effective the impact. This velocity is achieved using a hydraulic spring that creates a time delay by controlling the flow of oil through a restricted orifice (pressure breaker).

    Key Features:
    • 1. Impact force is hydraulically controlled, with valves activated in both directions by the operator.
    • 2. A  metering device regulates the jarring force and ensures consistent delay time across the full operational temperature range.
    • 3. The jar operates via a simple up-and-down motion and is unaffected by right or left torque.
    • 4. Standard sealing kits are rated for temperatures up to 250°F (120°C). Optional high-temperature kits are available for HPHT conditions up to 400°F (200°C).
    • 5. External sealing surfaces are coated with  tungsten carbide to enhance resistance against wear and corrosion.
