A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the design, establishment, and development of an Electric Vehicle Educational Laboratory was signed between Mahtab Energy Pasargad Company, the electricity and utilities holding of Pasargad Energy Group, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday, December 8, aims to address the country’s growing need for advanced technologies in electric transportation and the transition toward clean energy. Under the MoU, the two sides will collaborate on the development of the laboratory at Sharif University of Technology, as well as on related research, educational, and development activities in the field of electric vehicle technologies.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Babak Hossein Khalaj, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, highlighted the university’s role as a bridge between government and industry. He emphasized that the establishment of an electric vehicle laboratory would fill a critical gap in education by familiarizing students with innovative clean energy solutions and supporting the development of electric vehicle technologies in the country. He also noted that as automotive technology increasingly shifts from mechanical systems toward electronics, the laboratory would enable more focused education in the design and construction of electric vehicles.
Mohammad Malaki, Chairman of the Board of Pasargad Energy Group, also underscored the importance of developing and utilizing electric vehicles, stating that accelerating the establishment of the laboratory would help raise students’ awareness and practical understanding of electric vehicle technologies. He added that Pasargad Energy Group supports the implementation of such initiatives at universities.
As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts in the education sector, Pasargad Energy Group continues to strengthen cooperation with academic institutions by upgrading educational and research infrastructure and organizing specialized training seminars, scientific tours, and internship programs. The MoU with Sharif University of Technology was signed within this framework.
