Shams Pasargad Power Generation Co. has won top rankings in two indexes of “producible energy rate” and “energy rate and opportunity cost” in the latest quarterly reports by Iran Electricity Market.

The company, which is the operator of Shariati Combined Cycle Power Plant, has achieved top ranks in the “producible energy rate” and “energy rate and opportunity cost” in the latest quarterly reports by Iran Electricity Market (Irema) for Summer and Fall 2024, underscoring its improved operational performance and economic efficiency in Iran’s competitive power market, according to the public relations office of Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC).

Shams Pasargad Generation Co., a subsidiary of Mahtab Energy Pasargad Holding owned by Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC), owns and operates Sahriati Combined Cycle Power Plant. The plant, with a nominal capacity of about 500 megawatts, is located in Khorsan Razavi Province and has delivered outstanding performance despite limitations in Iran’s power grid and generation curtailment at some points in the year, which pose challenges to the competition in wholesale electricity market. It credited its success to skilled workforce and constant upgrade of management and control practices.

In the summer 2024 report, developed by the market monitoring and studies office of electricity market deputy at Iran Grid Management Company (IGMC), power plants are ranked by technology type. Shariati Power Plant (Shams Pasargad Power Generation Co.) was ranked first in “producible energy rate” index, highlighting its operational superiority among power plants using the same technology, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the plant secured the top national ranking in “energy rate and opportunity cost” index in summer 2024, reinforcing its position in Iran’s competitive electricity market.

In Fall 2025 report, Shariati Power Plant was placed second in “energy rate and opportunity cost” index, reflecting its sustained strong performance in consecutive quarters.

These achievements reflect the professional approach adopted by Shams Pasargad Power Generation Co. for the operational management of the power plant, increasing its efficiency, strengthening its competitive position and maximizing profitability in Iran’s electricity market.
