The student team of Petroleum Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, supported by Pasargad Energy Group, secured a place among the world’s top five teams at the international PetroCup competition, which featured 49 leading teams from the Eurasia, Middle East, Africa, and East Asia leagues.
Following multiple stages of competition, 16 teams advanced to the final round. The Sharif University of Technology team, based at Pasargad Energy Group’s educational site, ultimately achieved fifth place worldwide, earning the distinction of being the best representative of Iran and Asia.
This achievement is particularly notable as the Iranian team outperformed the competition’s official simulator robot. With the top four positions claimed by Russian universities—the host country of the event—this result has been recorded as a significant scientific and industrial accomplishment for Iran on the global stage.
By providing educational infrastructure and specialized support to the student team, Pasargad Energy Group played a key role in enabling this international success.
