Taban Energy Pasargad Damghan ranked as Iran’s top solar power plant

Renewables and Distributed Generation Resource Monitoring Center ranked Taban Energy Pasargad Damghan as Iran’s top solar power plant, owning the highest capacity factor.

It was also ranked as the second power plant in terms of generation, the center announced.

The 10-megawatt Taban Energy Pasargad Damghan power plant has a capacity factor of 25.5 percent and generated 21,940 megawatts of electricity per hour in last Iranian calendar year 1403 (ended March 20, 2025).

Solar power plants accounted for over 1,100 gigawatts hour in Iran’s energy generation mix last year, up 29 percent against the same period the year before (Iranian year 1402).

Pasaragd Energy Development Company (PEDC) has planned to construct 25 solar power plants in 12 Iranian provinces, with more than 1,500 megawatts capacity.
