According to the 24th meeting of the Joint Management Committee (JMC) for the development and production enhancement project of the Sepehr and Jufair oilfields, cumulative oil production from these fields has exceeded 34.5 million barrels.
As reported by the Public Relations Department of Pasargad Energy Group, citing SHANA, the 24th JMC meeting was held on Monday, December 15, with the participation of committee members, including representatives of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the project operator, and contractors. During the meeting, a comprehensive report on the physical and operational progress of the project was presented, and the implementation status of drilling, production, and surface facilities development programs was reviewed. The committee members also evaluated the contractor’s performance and approved the latest financial statements of the project after review.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of the Sepehr and Jufair oilfields in the country’s oil production portfolio, the employer-side JMC members stressed the need for balanced development, production from the Ilam formation, and increased heavy oil production alongside light oil output from these fields, noting that such an approach plays a key role in sustaining production and protecting the reservoir.
During the meeting, it was announced that cumulative oil production from the Sepehr and Jufair fields has so far surpassed 34.5 million barrels, underscoring the significant role of this project in boosting production and achieving the macro-level objectives of Iran’s oil industry.
It was also noted that production from these fields has generated more than $2 billion in foreign exchange revenue for the country.
