Iran says Some OPEC Members Act in Line with US Policies

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh said: "Moving in line with US policies and subjective interpretation of the decisions of the recent OPEC meeting is not right."

According to Khaneye Mellat news agency on Friday, the official said, "Some members are interpreting the latest OPEC decision [on oil output] differently, which is not right."

Asked whether an OPEC meeting would be held to consider the stonewalling activities of some OPEC members, Mr. Zanganeh said such a meeting would not be needed.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) agreed with Russia and other oil-producing allies in June to raise output from July, with Saudi Arabia pledging a “measurable” supply boost but giving no specific numbers.

Iran has told OPEC that no member country should be allowed to take over another member’s share of oil exports. Iran's concerns came in the wake of a Saudi offer to pump more crude amid U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil sales starting in November.
