TEHRAN (Shana) -- The operator of South Azadegan Oilfield's development project said arrangements for holding tenders for drilling 10 oil wells in the field were under way, which would bring the field's rig count to 17 form currently 13.

According to the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), Mohammad Ali Azhdari said all the 13 rigs operating in the joint oilfield are being run by Iranian companies.

He said the field is currently supplying 100,000 barrels per day of crude oil, adding a total of 70,000 b/d is expected to be added to the field's output by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20.

He had earlier told Shana that the field's output would grow once a mobile processing unit starts operating in South Azadegan.

Iran shares South Azadegan with Iraq.
